Microfibre cloths are highly absorbent, effective at trapping dirt and they are non-abrasive, which makes them a great choice for cleaning a variety of surfaces. To get the most from your microfibre cloths, follow this simple rule of thumb: Make two folds and get eight surfaces for cleaning.
Step 1. Fold your cloth in half to form a rectangle, then fold it again to form a square. You’ll have 8 identically sized cleaning surfaces that fit easily into your hand.
Step 2. Apply the cleaning product of your choice to the side of the cloth you want to use, then wipe the surface you want to clean. (If you’re not using any products, go ahead and wipe.)
Step 3. To change sides, lift the corner of the soiled side up and over with your middle finger, then repeat Step 2.
When all eight sides have been used, or you are ready to clean a different surface (ex. toilet, countertop, etc.), use a new microfibre cloth. Be sure to wash used cloths, and do not put them back into your bucket of cleaning solution.
This special folding technique ensures all sides of the cloth are only used once, prevents the spread of germs, and maximizes the microfibre’s cleaning capacity. Moreover, this technique is equally effective on microfiber, mixed fiber, and non-woven cleaning cloths.
